JOB OVERVIEW

Hi everyone,

Our team creates many web page copies for various manufacturers weekly. While our core writing is solid, we are looking to hire a native English speaker to perform a final review and polish before publication.

The main goal isn't heavy rewriting, but rather to fine-tune the text, ensuring it reads smoothly, naturally, and professionally for a native English-speaking audience (primarily US and UK markets). You would be responsible for catching awkward phrasing, improving flow, and making sure the language feels completely natural.

Key Responsibilities:

Proofread and edit copy for grammar, spelling, and punctuation errors.

Refine sentence structure for clarity and readability.

Ensure the tone is consistent and professional.

Provide a reasonably quick turnaround on a weekly batch of content.

This is a new role for our team, so we are also looking for your expertise on how to structure this collaboration. We are open to suggestions on the best workflow. We envision sending you Google Docs for review, but are happy to adapt.

Regarding compensation: We are seeking guidance on standard practices. We are open to an hourly rate or a per-word rate, whichever is more appropriate for this kind of editing work. To start the conversation, we propose a budget of $ 10 USD per hour, but we are flexible and willing to pay for quality and experience.

We are looking for someone with:

Native English fluency.

Proven experience in copy editing or proofreading (a portfolio or samples will be required).

Strong attention to detail.

Excellent communication skills.

How to Apply:
Please send me a Private Message (PM) with:

A brief introduction about yourself and your experience.

A link to your portfolio or 1-2 relevant samples of your work.

Your proposed hourly rate and a short explanation of why it's a good fit for this task.

Any initial thoughts you have on a potential workflow.

Thank you for your time, and we look forward to hearing from you!
