Video Editor (Remote) | U.S. Family Law Brand
Are you creative, detail oriented, and serious about storytelling that actually moves people to act? We are hiring a Full Time Video Editor to turn raw attorney/education footage into polished, on brand videos that inform, inspire, and convert. This is a production role with clear output targets. If you need hand holding, this isn’t for you.
Job Description:
You will own the end to end video pipeline, from assembling rough cuts to publishing on YouTube, Instagram, TikTok, and our website. You will deliver clean edits, strong pacing, crisp captions, and optimized thumbnails, all while following brand and legal compliance guidelines for a family law practice. Your work will be measured, not guessed: output, quality, and audience growth.
Key Responsibilities:
• Produce attorney/educational videos for YouTube and short form for Reels/TikTok/Shorts.
• Add captions, lower thirds (attorney name/title), thumbnails, and CTA end cards.
• Export in multiple aspect ratios: 16:9, 9:16, 1:1.
• Upload and optimize across platforms (metadata, chapters, tags, end screens, cards).
• Apply YouTube SEO best practices (titles, descriptions, chapters, tags, schema).
• Maintain structured project folders in Google Drive (or other tools) with naming conventions and backups.
• Manage versions and handoffs so anyone can find what they need in under a minute.
• Track performance (watch time, retention, CTR, follower growth) and propose improvements.
• Coordinate schedules with attorneys and freelance videographers; hit deadlines without delays.
• Ensure legal disclaimers and confidentiality standards are applied consistently.
Performance Expectations:
1. Output
• 4–6 long form attorney/educational videos per month.
• 30–40 short form reels/TikToks per month.
• 5–10 static assets (thumbnails, carousels) per month.
2. Quality & Branding
• 100% of videos include captions, lower thirds, CTA end cards, and required aspect ratios.
• 95% brand consistency (logo, fonts, colors, tone).
• 100% required legal disclaimers included; captions properly timed and readable.
3. Engagement & Reach (within 6–12 months)
• +15–20% average video watch time
• +10–15% social engagement (likes, comments, shares)
• +5–8% YouTube CTR via improved thumbnails/titles
• +20% growth in YouTube subscribers or TikTok/Instagram followers
4. Collaboration & Efficiency
• 95% of content delivered on schedule per content calendar.
• 80–90% of attorney filming sessions successfully coordinated with videographers.
• 100% of final edits reviewed and approved within 72 hrs of draft delivery.
Qualifications:
• Strong editing skills in Adobe Premiere Pro or DaVinci Resolve (After Effects or Motion a plus).
• At least 2+ years of experience editing for YouTube and/or social media platforms.
• Sharp sense of pacing, structure, and audience retention (hooks, pattern breaks, CTA placement).
• Excellent organization: you respect file structures, version control, and deadlines.
• Professionalism and discretion with sensitive family law topics.
• Proficiency with Google Workspace and project tools (Asana, Trello, or similar).
• Bonus: YouTube SEO, GA4/analytics, or content marketing experience.
Work Schedule:
• Full time (40 hours per week).
• Must be available to work during U.S. Eastern Standard Time (EST) business hours for team coordination.
