JOB OVERVIEW

Seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Video Editor with a strong interest in American football (NFL and/or NCAAF) to help create highlight reels showcasing every target, reception, and rushing attempt for specific players. The editor will be responsible for efficiently cutting full games into player-focused compilations while maintaining quality, pacing, and viewer engagement suitable for YouTube.

Responsibilities:

-Edit full game footage into player-specific highlight packages (all targets, receptions, rushes, etc.).

-Accurately identify and timestamp plays (must understand football terminology, positions, and play flow).

-Apply basic graphics and on-screen text (player name, game info, season/week details, watermark/branding).

-Sync edits with appropriate audio (game broadcast commentary, crowd, or muted depending on YouTube’s guidelines).

-Ensure video pacing keeps viewers engaged while preserving the integrity of plays.

-Deliver videos optimized for YouTube formatting (1080p minimum, correct aspect ratio, clean transitions, minimal dead time).

-Maintain a consistent style across all videos for brand identity.

-Collaborate with the channel owner on game/player prioritization and turnaround times.

Requirements:

-Proven experience with sports editing or highlight reels (portfolio preferred) (Or a STRONG willingness to learn).

-Proficiency in video editing software (Adobe Premiere Pro, Final Cut, DaVinci Resolve, etc.).

-Strong knowledge of American football (must be able to distinguish targets, receptions, rushes, penalties, and player positions).

-Strong organizational skills — ability to handle multiple games and player assignments.

-Familiarity with YouTube content rules (fair use, transformative edits, music restrictions, etc.) is a plus.

-Ability to meet deadlines during NFL/NCAAF season (quick turnaround is key).

Nice to Have:

-Experience with motion graphics/After Effects for simple lower thirds or branding.

-Passion for American football and willingness to keep up with current NFL/NCAAF seasons.

-Previous experience working with U.S.-based clients and content creators.
