Job Summary
We are seeking a detail-oriented and motivated Staff Accountant to join our team. In this role, you will directly contribute to our mission by delivering accurate, timely financial support that empowers small business owners to achieve their goals. As a Staff Accountant at Ciera + Co., you’ll uphold our core values of expert-level communication, radical responsibility, and empowering small business prosperity, ensuring our clients feel informed, supported, and ready to seize financial opportunities.
Key Responsibilities
Prepare and maintain financial records, including general ledger accounts, journal entries, and reconciliations.
Support month-end and year-end closing processes to ensure accurate financial reporting.
Ensure compliance and accuracy in all accounting transactions and reporting.
Conduct regular ledger maintenance and account reconciliations to support financial clarity for clients.
Assist with tax return preparation, cashflow management, and financial audits.
Analyze financial statements and reports, delivering actionable insights for client success.
Collaborate with the team to improve internal financial procedures and ensure clients remain ahead of financial challenges.
Handle ad-hoc accounting projects, ensuring agility and responsiveness to client needs.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
Proven experience as a Staff Accountant or in a similar role, ideally within a consulting or small business-focused environment.
Proficiency in accounting software, databases, and Microsoft Excel.
CPA certification or CPA candidate preferred.
Familiarity with small business industries, including photography, salons, and service-based businesses, is a plus.
