Description: This position has primary responsibility for staffing and scheduling services for Assisting Hands®. The Staffing Coordinator matches caregivers with clients and coordinates caregiver schedules. This position involves extensive telephone work and interaction with caregivers, clients, and health care professionals. The Staffing Coordinator also responds to inquiries from prospective clients.
Qualifications: Excellent telephone and interpersonal skills in English and Spanish, must be well-organized and have good attention to detail. Requires at least two years experience in staffing or customer service in a health care setting. Experience with home care, home health, or senior services preferred. Must be a good problem solver and able to work independently.
Reports to: Office Manager and Administrator
Primary Duties:
1. Staff cases – matches appropriate caregivers to jobs that are called in by clients, case managers and others.
2. Makes sure that all cases are covered. Arrange for substitute/back-up coverage as necessary.
3. Assists with answering phones.
4. Handles/resolves client and caregiver issues, problems and scheduling changes.
5. Provides information about services to prospective clients.
6. Responsible for maintaining client files and keeping them up to date.
7. Responsible for verifying authorization of services with payors.
8. Serves as the point of contact for clients, caregivers and case managers.
9. Counsels caregivers regarding attendance or performance issues. Make recommendations to Administrator regarding the termination of caregivers.
10. Works closely with the bookkeeper to ensure that hours and pay rates are correct for payroll.
11. Handles after-hours on-call services as needed. This means answering the phone after 5:00pm (Monday – Friday). Also, during the weekend, be available to address any emergencies.
12. Must have a caring personality and be willing to support other functions of the administrative team as needed.
Hours: 9:00 AM – 5:00 PM EST (Miami), Monday through Friday and on call availability
