We are looking for a skilled Documentary Film Editor to assist in producing a video-based presentation for a family custody case. This production does not follow the format of a traditional documentary; instead, it is a carefully organized, narrative-based visual record created for formal review in a legal proceeding.
The goal is to help the court understand the context and chronology of events through carefully organized storytelling using real-life footage, recordings, and digital communications.
Responsibilities:
-Edit and organize raw media files (e.g., pictures, videos, audio recording, screenshots and screen recordings) into a coherent and legally appropriate video presentation.
-Collaborate closely with the client and legal team to ensure sensitive material is handled appropriately.
-Create visual transitions, on-screen text, and other supporting elements to enhance clarity and impact.
-Maintain a neutral, factual tone while also capturing the emotional nuances necessary for context.
-Ensure the final product is appropriate for submission to legal professionals or court
-Handle all content with discretion and professionalism
Qualifications:
-Have 3 or more years of Video editing experience
-Proficiency in Adobe Premiere Pro
-Have a documentary mindset and can craft emotional clarity from complex, real-life material.
-Understand the seriousness of legal matters and can approach content with professionalism.
-Are reliable, organized, can work independently and able to deliver under tight deadlines.
-Believe in the power of video to inform and support truth.
