Job Title: Accountant / Controller
Industry: Construction / Real Estate Private Equity
Location: Remote (U.S. only)
Employment Type: Full-Time
We are a vertically integrated private real estate group seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Accountant or Controller to oversee the day-to-day accounting and financial reporting for our construction company. The ideal candidate will have a strong command of accounting systems, cost tracking, and job-level financial reporting within the context of real estate or construction operations.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Manage all accounting functions for the construction division, including AP/AR, job costing, reconciliations, and financial -reporting
- Maintain accurate records in QuickBooks Online (QBO) and produce timely monthly close reports
- Oversee project-level tracking and financial controls in coordination with the project team
- Support audits, internal controls, and compliance initiatives
- Prepare cash flow reports, forecasting, and assist with budgeting and planning
- Collaborate with executive leadership on financial strategy and operational efficiency
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS (Applications will ONLY be considered if all are met):
- Minimum 7 years of professional accounting experience
- Minimum 5 years of experience using QuickBooks Online (QBO)
- Miniumum 2 years of U.S.-based remote work experience in an accounting or finance role
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- Experience in real estate, construction, or development environments
- Background in fund management or private equity finance
- Familiarity with Buildertrend or other construction/project management platforms
- Strong skills in financial analysis, forecasting, and modeling
- Understanding of credit facilities, leverage structures, and cost of capital
- Previous role as a Controller or senior finance tea
- CPA licensed
Compensation:
Commensurate with experience. Competitive pay with potential for long-term engagement. Bonsues, 13th month payment, etc.
