Position: Unreal Engine VR Implementation Specialist
Location: Remote
IMPORTANT: This is NOT a 3D modeling or concept art position. We already have tea
About the Project:
We're developing VR experiences for a 200-acre mixed-use development project and a water-related nonprofit initiative. Our existing team has created the 3D assets and concepts, but we need a technical specialist who can quickly implement them in Unreal Engine for VR viewing.
Key Requirements (MUST HAVE):
• PROVEN experience building and deploying VR applications with Unreal Engine 5
• Efficiency in implementing existing assets (NOT creating new models from scratch)
• Experience optimizing large environments for Meta/Oculus headsets
• Ability to rapidly integrate real-world structures without rebuilding them
• Experience with Blueprint programming for interactive elements
• Understanding of how to create packaged builds for client demonstrations
What We DON'T Need:
• We don't need someone to create 3D models or concept art
• We don't need someone who takes months to implement simple structures
• We don't need another generalist who can "do a bit of everything"
What Sets Successful Candidates Apart:
• Show us examples of VR applications you've deployed to actual headsets
• Demonstrate your workflow for quickly implementing existing assets
• Prove your experience with large-scale architectural environments in VR
• Show your understanding of VR performance optimization techniques
Application Requirements:
• Link to downloadable VR application(s) you've created (not just screenshots)
• Brief explanation of your technical role in those projects
• Description of your process for implementing existing 3D assets in Unreal Engine for VR
• Experience with Datasmith or similar tools for architectural data import
• Estimated timeline for implementing a simple retail store exterior in VR (using existing assets)
Compensation includes competitive base rate plus weekly production bonuses for achieving realistic milestones.
