Hi — thanks for looking. Please read the whole post before applying; there are a few quick steps at the bottom, and we do skip applications that miss them.
We're a small video editing studio making long-form YouTube content for a handful of clients — our videos usually run 30–50 minutes. The work changes from client to client, so it stays interesting. Our lead editor handles the creative direction, and we're looking for one editor to take footage from raw into a strong edit alongside him.
This is a real editing role — cutting long-form footage into a story. It's not graphic design or thumbnail work. If you live in a Premiere timeline and know how to shape hours of raw into something that holds attention, you'll like it here. (After Effects on top of that is a nice bonus, not a requirement.)
**What the work looks like:**
- We hand you organized footage. You build the timeline and finish syncing the multicam — we have a tool that gets it most of the way, and you tighten it up.
- You watch through the raw and cut it into a strong, well-structured edit: what to keep, what to drop, how it should flow. This is the heart of the job.
- Captions, audio balancing, simple color, and clean delivery.
How far you take the edit is up to how good you are. Some editors will hand back a solid cut for our lead to finish; if you can take it all the way to a polished video, even better — there's real room to own more over time.
**What we're looking for:**
- You edit in Adobe Premiere Pro (2025/2026) — it's what we use, so it's a must.
- You can sync multicam footage yourself.
- Real story sense — you can structure an hour of footage without someone holding your hand.
- Reliable, clear communicator, and you hit your deadlines.
- Stable internet and a computer that handles 4K. On bigger projects we'll set you up with proxies; on smaller ones you'll work with the full files, so a solid connection and some storage matter.
**Nice to have:** After Effects skills, a feel for YouTube retention (why the first 15 seconds matter), and the kind of person who takes a note once and runs with it.
**The role:** it starts with a small paid trial edit so we can both feel out the fit. From there it's ongoing part-time (20 hrs/week) at $600 CAD/month to start, paid on time via Wise or PayPal — with real room to grow in hours, pay, and responsibility as we take on more work.
