Role Overview
We are looking for a highly organized, analytical, and detail-oriented Packaging & Logistics Optimization Specialist to manage packaging specifications, optimize carton and pallet configurations, and coordinate international shipments from Korea to destinations worldwide.
This is a hands-on role for someone who is excellent with numbers, Excel/Google Sheets, packing calculations, and logistics coordination. You should be comfortable working independently, solving problems, communicating with freight forwarders and internal teams, and following tasks through to completion without needing constant follow-up.
Key Responsibilities
* Determine the most efficient packing configuration from unit carton → master carton → pallet.
* Calculate carton dimensions, case packs, weights, CBM, units per carton, units per pallet, and pallet configurations.
* Create clear carton packing and palletization diagrams.
* Maintain accurate product, packaging, carton, and pallet specifications.
* Optimize carton and pallet configurations to reduce empty space, dimensional weight, and freight costs.
* Maintain and analyze product, packaging, order, and logistics data using Excel, Google Sheets, and
* Contact freight forwarders to request quotations and compare freight costs, routes, transit times, and shipping options.
* Book and coordinate international air, ocean, LCL, and FCL shipments originating from Korea.
* Track bookings, ETDs, ETAs, customs/delivery progress, and final deliveries, and proactively follow up when information is missing or delayed.
* Review shipping and fulfillment requirements for retailers, e-commerce platforms, distribution centers, and 3PLs.
* Help ensure shipments meet required case packs, carton labels, pallet labels, pallet configurations, and other shipping requirements.
* Support COGS, freight, landed-cost, and pricing calculations as needed.
* Identify potential packing or logistics issues early and help find practical solutions before shipment.
Qualifications
* 2+ years of relevant experience in packaging, logistics, supply chain, freight forwarding, pallet planning, manufacturing operations, or a related field.
* Strong mathematical, geometric, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
* Strong proficiency in Excel and Google Sheets is required.
* Comfortable working with measurements, quantities, weights, CBM, carton configurations, and pallet calculations.
* Experience coordinating international air and ocean freight.
* Strong written and verbal communication skills.
* Highly organized, detail-oriented, proactive, and reliable with follow-ups.
* Able to work independently and manage multiple projects and shipments at the same time.
* Experience with
* Experience with StackBuilder or other carton/pallet optimization software is a plus.
* Experience handling shipments for Amazon, Target, Ulta Beauty, Walmart, Sephora, Costco, or other major retailers, marketplaces, distribution centers, or fulfillment centers is a strong plus.
* Experience in cosmetics, beauty, CPG, or manufacturing is a plus.
* A degree in Industrial Engineering, Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Packaging Engineering, or a related field is preferred but not required.
