As a Virtual Medical Assistant at Healthcare Virtual, you'll play a crucial role in supporting healthcare practices across the US from a remote location. You’ll provide essential administrative and operational assistance, enabling healthcare providers to streamline their processes and focus on delivering quality patient care.
Key Responsibilities May Include:
Front Desk / Patient Care Coordination: Manage appointment scheduling, assist with patient inquiries via phone and email, maintain patient records, insurance verification, and claims processing, and facilitate communication with providers and medication authorization.
Financial Management: Handle billing, payment processing, and financial reporting tasks.
Medical Transcription: Transcribe medical reports, dictations, and notes into electronic medical records with precision and attention to detail.
Data Entry and Management: Update patient information, manage databases, and generate statistical reports while ensuring the accuracy and integrity of all data records.
Medical Billing: Prepare and submit medical claims, follow up on claim statuses, resolve billing issues, and ensure compliance with billing standards and regulations.
Medical Records Management: Maintain accurate and comprehensive patient records, organizing and updating electronic health records (EHR), and ensuring all medical documentation is correctly filed.
Required Skills and Qualifications:
Experience in the position you are applying for: medical billing, medical transcription, data entry, insurance verification, or healthcare administration.
Strong knowledge of medical terminology, healthcare regulations, and administrative procedures.
Excellent English communication skills and strong interpersonal abilities for interacting with patients, healthcare professionals, and insurance companies.
Proficiency with healthcare management software, electronic health record systems, medical billing software, and general office tools (e.g., MS Office, Excel).
Detail-oriented with a focus on accuracy and efficiency in all tasks.
Strong organizational skills and the ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment.
Ability to handle sensitive and confidential information with discretion.
Preferred Skills:
College diploma in a medical field or equivalent; additional education in healthcare administration or medical billing is a plus.
Familiarity with medical coding systems.
HIPAA certification.
