Join our team as a Senior Accountant in the dynamic Real Estate sector. In this role, you will work closely with our Head Controller and Property Managers to oversee the finance and accounting operations company-wide. This full-time position, based on PST (Pacific Standard Time), offers substantial opportunities for career advancement based on demonstrated ability and knowledge.
- Generate monthly and quarterly financial reports as required
- Produce financial statements, conduct detailed variance analysis, and reconcile general ledger accounts for individual entities
- Perform bank reconciliations and journal entries
- Ensure accuracy in general ledger, manage accounts payable, payroll, and cash flow
- Prepare journal entries with supporting documentation across all entities
- Assist in budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis
- Maintain invoice tracking, ensuring approvals and alignment with PO systems
- Reconcile year-end payroll tax reports and oversee issuance of W2’s and 1099s
- Establish and enforce internal controls
- Contribute to enhancements of accounting systems
- Assist in creating and updating process documentation
Required Skills:
- Strong commitment to timeliness and high-quality work
- Ability to organize and prioritize tasks with minimal supervision
- Proficient in GAAP and financial reporting
- Exceptional work ethic with a goal-oriented mindset
- Advanced skills in Microsoft Office and Excel
- Experience with accounting systems; familiarity with AppFolio is advantageous
- Preference for candidates with prior real estate industry experience
Education:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accountancy or related field
