**Responsibilities:**
- **Generate New Business:** Leverage your industry knowledge and existing network to acquire new clients and build long-term relationships.
- **Customer Retention:** Maintain strong relationships with current customers to ensure satisfaction and repeat business.
- **Negotiation:** Negotiate rates and terms with customers to maximize profitability while providing competitive solutions.
- **Market Research:** Stay updated on industry trends, market demands, and competitor activities to identify new business opportunities.
- **Documentation:** Ensure all transactions and shipments are accurately and promptly documented.
- **Operations Management:** Oversee all operations and communication with customers and carriers, ensuring smooth processes.
- **Visibility:** Maintain full visibility of your shipments, including carrier costs and customer costs.
**Qualifications:**
- **Proven Sales Experience:** Demonstrated success in outside sales, preferably in the freight or logistics industry.
- **Customer Base:** Must bring an existing customer base or book of business in the freight industry.
- **Excellent Communication Skills:** Strong verbal and written communication skills for effective negotiation and relationship-building.
- **Negotiation Skills:** Ability to negotiate effectively to achieve mutually beneficial agreements with clients and carriers.
- **Self-Motivated:** A self-starter with a proactive approach to sales and business development.
- **Tech-Savvy:** Proficient in using relevant technology and software for freight brokerage.
- **Transportation Knowledge:** Understanding of transportation, logistics, and supply chain processes.
- **Broker Experience:** Extensive experience in brokering freight within the freight/transportation industry.
